Cold wind blows through the shadowy peaks, and makes an eerie sound as it flows over a shallow cave. Something sirs from within and then from the darkness a figure emerges.

Well hello folks! Yes it has been a long time since I even logged into this site. I've been in a bit of a hibernation as my work was eating most of my online time. However there has been a lull in my job and I am finally able to be a bit more digitally social.

Where to begin, so le me esplain... no there is too much, I some up. Well projects have been going slowly, still working on the Travisty. It's currently in scale model stage to I can work out the logistics and financial portions more accurately. The van is limping it's way to the grave so instead of getting a new one or fixing it up, I plan on starting to ride bikes more often (I only live a mile from my office). I just got back from seeing my family in Cali, and spottedvasa came with me (she has a better rundown of the events). I am building a new Chicken coop for the household so that we can get a couple more chickens (a more steady supply of fresh eggs is awesome). Starting a better exercise routine including some martial arts work. Going into savings mode (and likely going to try for some more PPD studies) to cover some recent dental work and to build up enough capital to start day trading in the future.

That's all for now, but hopefully ill be around here a bit more often.
Greetings Lj land

It has been some time since i posted. I have just been to busy at work to type, and recently i haven't even had a chance to turn on my home computer. being insanely busy with work, and all the events and side projects i have been helping with. However i have been Amazingly happy over the last 1 and 3/4 months. Not only am i dating one of the most amazing and gorgeous women i have ever met, but my talons have become a huge hit, my bills are steadily reducing, and the Pirate ship project is coming back into focus.

I am In such a state of bliss with my new girlfriend, We have allot of the same views, and she is super sexy! I've been really happy to be getting to spend allot of time with her recently. However with some things that the future may hold, with changing schedules, and her other commitments, i may not get to spend as much time with her as i would like, but there is light on the horizon that i may get to continue seeing her nearly as often. Although even as wonderful as everything is i still worry sometimes, i get some insecurities here and there if im good enough or handsome enough or smart enough or creative enough to be blessed with her presence in my life. i have been pretty good about stamping them out as they arrive, but it would be nice not to even think of them at all. Well i guess it's a part of human nature to question theses things from time to time.

In other news, i will be performing my first wedding ceremony in September, which i am very excited about. I will be officiating the wedding in Sith robes of my design, and the groom will be wearing an imperial officers uniform that i am helping him construct. The bride and groom are hoping to enlist the help of local 501st members to arrive in costume as well to add to the feel of the event.

I have also been re-visiting my path of the Sith, and I have absorbed many concepts and practices into my "Religion" recently. Being that my Sect of the "Religion" of the force is very small, It is a learning process to re-develop and build the practices of the Sith. The only resource currently is a handful of members on a secluded forum, while all have great insight in their paths, i have come to the understanding that not all sith follow the same path. There are many core elements that form the basis of the belief, but the details of exercises to focus the mind and follow those core elements form several "schools" of thought.

Of our group there are very few members in each school that make up the whole of the Sith. In the process of rebuilding the practices of my school, I would like to add some form of meditation into my life. I have spoken to a few people on the subject recently, and I think i am beginning to understand the basic concepts and practices involved in meditation, and they seem to fall right in line with my path. I have also begun studying several peoples paths in pagan circles, many of the practices and mindsets involved there would suit a few of the paths of the Sith very well.

And in housing news, although i just finished getting all my boxes and furniture moved from my old apartment to where I'm living now. I have recently run into an offer for a place the suits me much better. The only issue that i still have some concerns with is i am currently living with friends that were really excited to have me staying with them. I like them very much, but the house is difficult to live in. They have lots of pets, and i am allergic to several of them, and the pets make it so much more difficult to clean. While I'm not a neat freak by any stretch of the word, the pet messes, and aftermath of having old messes set in for so long have made it difficult to keep up with the cleaning and maintenance. I have mentioned the offer to one of the household members yesterday but have not seen the other recently to speak with her about it. the one household member seemed to be understanding of it, so that is a good sign.

Wow, i wrote quite a bit, I'm going to be putting these behind cuts so that you can pick and choose what if any of my ramblings you wish to read.

So yea, update goodness, it has been quite a while since I have posted non Meme stuff. Well moving again this week (and probably for the next 2 weeks as well) Moving in with some friends of mine (mike and Brandi) they are great people, but that have a lot of pets and there current standards of living are to low for my taste. Hopefully with me taking over allot of kitchen stuff (I love the kitchen) that my influence will help them raise the bar a bit.
I also had to postpone my trip to Lockhart for ship building due to my van exploding. While it turned out to be an easy fix, the trouble of getting it to a safe place to park and the timing of it just lead to a mildly poisoned Connon, and allot of sweat in the sun hunting down the problem. Speaking of vehicular projects, I have some plans in mind to convert my bicycle into a version of a moped. I’m going to try mounting a small motor to it and rigging up the chain assembly with a centrifugal clutch. I am going to try keeping the engine under 40cc witch will keep it in the realm of “Motor assisted bicycle” which does not require Tags or insurance. This should help in reducing the fuel costs I incur with the Van O Doom, and should pay for itself in a little less than a month.
In other news Social events have been occurring much more frequently than I was previously used to, however this is a very good thing. I am enjoying the family of friends I have adopted here in Austin, and I want to thank you all for being the wonderful people you are. I am also exceptionally squee lately due to recently building a relationship with Spottedvasa, She is an amazing person, and has helped fill my life recently with immeasurable joy.

Well that is what i have time to write between calls today. off to the Batcave to finish packing.

You know how sometimes people on your friend's list post about stuff going on in their life, and all of a sudden you think "Wait a minute? Since when are they working THERE? Since when are they dating HIM/HER? since when???" And then you wonder how you could have missed all that seemingly pretty standard information, but somehow you feel too ashamed to ask for clarification because it seems like info you *should* already know? It happens to all of us sometimes.

First Name: Connon

Age: 29

Location: Around Mopac & Parmer

Occupation: Currently I am a phone jockey, AKA phone based technical support. However I have been known to work on computer upgrades, painting, construction, landscaping, automotive repair, costume design/construction, or forging steel on the side.

Partner?: I am dating spottedvasa, and am way to squee for words from this. and while I’m not really dating anyone else, I am a huge flirt and I am very flirty with several others on my friends list.

Kids: while I don’t mind them now ant then, and on occasion they can even be cute. I have had too much responsibility to look after family and friends offspring to want any of my own, hence I went under the knife and had a vasectomy.

Brothers/Sisters: I have one younger half sister who is a business owner, pilot, and horseback races in championship barrel races. I am pretty sure I have some half brothers and half sisters on the other side, but ill get into that in a future paragraph.

Pets: I currently do not own any, There are 2 reasons for this. First I move to often, and stay home to infrequently to provide a stable home for a pet. Second my family owned a pet kennel while I was growing up and I helped run it as a kid. While it was a learning experience having offer 1000 pets to take care of

School: I never completed any civilian programs other than high school. Then she left he boyfriend in southern California before I started high school. I see him every once in a while, but my half sister and him have a much stronger connection. I met my biological father when I was 21, we hung out for a little while and went fishing once, I can see where I got many of my traits from. But he has his own family and kids and while he is an interesting person I never really formed any connection there either.

Who are some of your closest friends?: This one is hard to quantify, I love my friends as an extended family, trying to identify the closest becomes problematic. If I have to chose, I would have to say everyone in my current gaming group fall into this category.

Work history? My recent work history has been mass amounts of technical support and helpdesk. (like 6 years now) but I have worked in more fields than most people have in their life, In childhood I was a Pet kennel assistant, and pet bathing/ grooming. In high school I worked as a mechanic part time for family and friends. After high school I joined the army where my jobs consisted of being trained as a mechanical engineer, recovery specialist (aka tow truck driver) working the kitchens of a 4 star dining facility, Parts depot supervisor, transmission mechanic, turbine mechanic, truck driver, vehicle painter and of course combat soldier. After the Army, I went into green chain at a lumber mill in California, then worked as a lumberjack in the costal mountains, then signed in with the California conservation corps restoring animal habitat, after that I did in home sales demonstrations with Cutco cutlery, Did a few jobs as a pace/ spotter car for cross state heavy equipment hauling. I then came to Texas and worked at Costco wholesale as a merchandising specialist (just a big name for stocking shelves) moved up to register and stocking and also worked as a vet assistant, Next I worked in construction on roofing and gutters, with some renovation/ paining work for Austin gutter king. Then I started my span of helpdesk/ tech support, I got into the field with Unisys, then got hired on with NCsoft ( video game company’s RAWK) then worked for Symantec before finally making it here to Photodex. And that list doesn’t include all the side things I do for extra money, like forging daggers and talons, or building structures, or costume and prop work.

“My Fliptentions” The Follow-up

Hi Lj,

First flipside was great hands down, and I have no doubt I will be retuning next year. However there are some things that I have to deal with from flipside that I had not expected, and need to work through.
Recapping my list:

Let go of the last of my worries that people won’t like me. (Mostly done, this did come up a few times this event)

Relax and not worry about all the details I missed (stressed over some details, but I say this one is mostly good)

Meet a lot of new people and flirt with most of them (I met a few new people, but only flirted with the ones I already knew)

Find People to help fill my art van “the steel chest” with fine “booty” (In the sense of the word I had intended this was not accomplished. Several women spent time napping in my van cause it was quiet comfy and relatively cool.)

Try to find some “booty” for myself in the process (as above statement, I did not accomplish this in the sense I was intending. However I did get to spend time with what I would consider the most precious person I knew at the whole event. And since the term in its traditional sense more refers to valuables, I say that in a way I had the greatest “booty” ever)

Dance a lot (including in a go-go cage) (mission accomplished ;) and thanks to those who applauded and raved about my strip tease performance)

Swim as much as I can (Also mission accomplished, the creek was the only place to really be comfortable during the heat of the day)

Stop in and wave at as many theme camps as I can. (Holy moly there were more of them than I could have imagined, but I stopped in at a whole lot and it was awesome)

I got to see so many cool things, and there was so much amazing music around. The land and creek were beautiful, and the people were amazing. The weather was a bit rough, the heat was intense and the ants where everywhere. But overall it felt right to be there, I truly did feel “home”

Now here comes the Issues that have my brain whirring since it’s over. (Names and specifics omitted for respect of privacy)

As referenced above I did get to spend time with someone, while this naturally a great thing. I have found this person very interesting and great to spend time with, also a wonderful thing. And I feel through our interactions and conversation we have become much closer. Now here comes the but, this person has made it known that there life cannot support a new lover.
While I am not exactly sure where that boundary lies for them, this causes some distress. I try to keep in my mind all the wonderful experiences shared together this weekend, but there is a place in myself that wonders “what now?” On one hand I know that I will be able to keep in contact with this person, and I know that there is the potential for, and likely will be, an amazing friendship. On the other hand I look at the amazing desire this person stirs within me, and would greatly like to explore that further with them.
I feel very conflicted, I do not want to add undo stress to their life, but I want them closer to me as well. Maybe this is all my muddled frustrations, desire for attention, and the energy of the moment contributing to a one sided fantasy? Then again what if it’s not, what if this is the spark of something that could be truly magical? It almost feels like all i can do is refocus myself and just let the weekends events live in blissful memories for now.
I think I should try and connect with this person again in the future starting with a friendly level. And I will just have to see where Fate/Destiny/the universe have out there for us. To me that seems like a good way to see what they feel about everything and what there boundaries and desires for me are. My hope for this would be that at the least we could make great friends with fond memories of the past. Although my true desire seems to be a more lasting connection, but i fear that I may be jumping to far or to fast for that. Perhaps if more things line up, I might someday have a deeper connection with this person.
I post this message to my little slice of the universe, and maybe I can get some thoughts or ideas from those who likely know me better than I currently do.

A little help maybe?

Greetings LJ land; I have a bit of a dilemma. So on Friday at <st1:time minute="30" hour="11">11:30</st1:time> I will need to trek down the street from my apartment about 5 miles to the north Austin medical center. The reason I am making this trek is for vasectomy surgery. After this procedure which I imagine will take less than 1 hour I will need to find a way to get back to may apartment. I will likely be on pain killers, but I think motor control of my legs to drive my van would be lacking.
I had originally planed to just camp in the back of my van in the parking lot until I felt ready to drive. But I am beginning to think that might not be the wisest choice. So I would like to place a call out to the LJ world to see if anyone happens to be in the north Austin area Friday morning/afternoon and would be able to either to make the round trip (Apartment to hospital and back again) or just pick me up from the hospital and leave my van there over the weekend.

If all else fails I do have the original plan and can chill in the van for a couple hours till I can drive again. Also even though it’s a simple procedure, all who can, please keep me in your thoughts for a speedy and safe procedure and recovery. My contact info is available in my profile if you want to contact me, or can offer assistance with my dilemma.

Weekend Updates

Finally got caught up on LJ posts from the weekend and am ready to give a brief rundown.

Well my “weekend” started Thursday, I went out to PBF at around 2 and setup stuff for the event. It was wonderful. I was a little nervous this being my first PBF, but after I got there and stated helping and feeling useful, I was able to relax a bit. There were great discussions and I loved the pirate tag game. Every time I thought that it couldn’t get any better, something would get even better. I got to try some really amazing foods, and I finally put faces to allot of my LJ friends. And I got to dance all night long with awesome people to some really groovy music. I got back Sunday afternoon and had a meeting with my flipside camp. It was pretty productive even though I feel a bit out of place since I don’t have a lot of experience or artistic talent to offer. But I hope I can just provide enough muscle and extra hands that I don’t become a burden.

Hers how this weeks schedule is setting up

Tonight: who knows, I’m free

Wed : dropping off tent with B, then off to whole foods and A’s kitchen to prepare raw recipes

Thur: watching my roommates 8 year old for an hour while they go to Yoga, then I’m likely free after 8:30

Friday: heading off to CMA to spend the weekend talking philosophy and meeting new people.

This is a question that i saw in a friends LJ just a second ago, and I would love to see other people's answers:

If you had five lives to live, what would you do with each one?

Bear in mind that you’re still you, just five times over. Don't worry about skills you don't have in your current incarnation, because you'd have a whole new lifetime to cultivate them. Your post doesn't need to include only income-generating careers, just try to share things you can imagine being the central focus of your life. My answers:

1. An actor, Preferably in musicals
2. Owner of a gaming store
3. Soldier of Fortune
4. Cruse ship captain
5. Founder of a self sustaining gamer geek commune

I had an awesome weekend, Started out Friday night with a housewarming party at my friend’s place (Heather and Jake). It was fun to see old friends and hang with the cool kids lol.
Had to leave early-ish to catch up with (what has been dubbed) the “smexy” trio. We played a version of jenga that was amazing, and had a great time. I left there early Saturday morning to go spring freaktacular at Canyon Lake.
I had a lot of first experiences there, and am grateful to all my friends who helped them happen. There was a tough time for part of Saturday night, but I participated in correcting the situation. While not fun, I think the experience helped strengthen the bonds between me and several friends.
I know this coming weekend will be equally as amazing (minus the drama of last weekend). I will be getting out of work a day earlier than expected, so I will be able to come out to PBF on Thursday. At this point I have no one confirmed riding with me, but I have the huge Cargo van (5 seatbelts and up to 1 ton of storage including a roof rack) so if people are interested in ridesharing let me know before Thursday 

Well this weekend rocked! Friday I bought a ski boat after work, and then went to a friend’s place that night for cuddling that was awesome. Saturday morning had brunch with a friend I don’t get to hang with normally. And that evening went to the pirates and pajama party, which was the best time ever! There were Jell-O shots, and awesome food, birthday cake, and one of the best games in the universe. Met some really cool people, and got to know some acquaintances much better. Sunday morning had fabulous food provided to me, witch was absolutely amazing. In the afternoon/evening I got to game with 2 groups of friends, and now am about to get some much needed sleep. I'll probably post more later but it’s off to night night land for me.

So most of you who follow my journal know all the emotional stuff I have been working on in my life. All of the efforts that I have been putting into changing my outlook on things have helped me considerably. I still have a long way to go, but through the help and knowledge of all of my friends; and through my desire to be happier with myself as a person, I know I will continue to make great strides. As good friends and even acquaintances have said, “I deserve better” and only recently I have been able to accept this. I want to thank everyone who has made comments, and suggested things to try that will help me view my issues from different perspectives. All of you have helped to shed some much needed light, into the places I was trying to hide from myself.

Well went to carnypocolyps last night and I did actually have fun. However I have realized I still cannot pickup clues from women. After talking to a one of my female friends at the end of the night, she was highly surprised I didn’t hook up with at least one of the people she saw me talking to. She could even see that the women I was speaking to was interested, but I was completely oblivious. She informed me that I do need to become more aggressive. So I'm off to the drawing board, trying to figure out a plan to increase my aggressiveness, and gain the ability to take control in some situations. I need to find some ways to “work on” this.

Side tangent: I am beginning to hate this phrase of “working on” something, I keep hearing people tell me I need to work on this, or that. But I am still pretty much in the dark on what is entailed in “Working on” something. It’s not like a machine where you just grab a new part and some tools and go in ant replace something. So how do you “work on” something that is completely intangible? /rant

Anyway, I’m in need of some thoughts and input from friends on exercises or other things I can do to help me step out of the complete puppy dog shell and into a more assertive and more dominant mindset. I also need to find a way to put enough barriers into this so that I do not become a major asshole. Any thoughts...bueler...bueler?
